Welcome to DR Fitness!
My name is Dwight Robinson. As children we played. We ran, jumped, climbed, lifted things, and threw things. Our movements were in all directions with many changes in direction.
As adults we begin to move less often with sedentary jobs and workouts consisting of repetitive movements walking/running on a treadmill or riding a stationary bike.
Limited activity as well as repeated movement activity may result in being less mobile. We lose muscle strength, our tendons and ligaments become less pliable and we become more susceptible to injuries - which can lead us to move even less.
Our bodies are meant to move. Strengthening the muscles strengthens connective tissues and bones. Movement in multiple directions keeps us pliable so movement feels better and helps reduce injuries and/or discomfort as we get older.
